Just as the butterfly must struggle to shed its cocoon, we all have to struggle to climb out of failure and into success. In fighting its way out of the cocoon, the butterfly develops muscles that it will need to fly. I once heard a man describe trying to help a butterfly get free of its cocoon. He took a knife and cut the cocoon away. The butterfly came out, but then died right before his eyes! That butterfly needed – and we all need – the struggle to achieve. The great Russian novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once said, “Even biology teaches us that habitual well-being is not favorable to life.” We all need to struggle our way into success. Striving to succeed will always be part of achieving your Why. When we don’t have struggles or obstacles to overcome, we become complacent, lazy and passive.
My coaching student that wrote the Why statement that you read earlier certainly understands that. That’s the reason that she began her Why by saying, “The reason why I am dealing with all the challenges. . . ” She didn’t flinch at the possibility of obstacles. She embraced them. Just settle it in your mind that you will have challenges, you will have obstacles and you will have hurdles—no question about it!
That same champion student also uses the words, “I actually see…” This is a critically important key in the process of overcoming the problems. You must SEE yourself successful, and you must SEE yourself achieving your Why. That’s why many successful sports trainers make their students visualize the golf ball rolling into the cup, the basketball swooshing the net, the arrow hitting the core of the target, etc. If you see it, you can do it. If you can’t see yourself (visualize) achieving your Why, then your belief in your Why is not strong enough. The discovery of your Why is a great milestone in your life. You will change, and you will improve yourself. Your interests will change, and you will expand. You will enjoy life even more than you already do. In order for this to happen, you must invest in yourself, face the problems and see yourself achieving your Why.

What’s the next step? Let me give you another million dollar tip that will catapult your belief in your Why. Here it is. Read your Why Card before going to bed and meditate on it for a few moments. Go over the day and ask yourself, “What did I do today that will assist me in the achievement of my Why?” Then ask yourself, “What can I do tomorrow to improve my daily championship action steps that will ultimately lead to the achievement of my Why?”
Write all these things down in your personal Why journal. Just like the 3×5 index card, use a simple notebook for your Why journal. A Why journal is a tool that you can keep on your night stand or near your bed. Every night, jot your answers to those two questions.
1. “What did I do today that will assist me in the achievement of my Why?”
2. “What can I do tomorrow to improve my daily championship action steps that will ultimately lead to the achievement of my Why?”
These Champion habits will pulverize old, unproductive behaviors. These habits will increase your success pace drastically! I know many of you are saying to yourself, “But, I don’t have time to read the Why Card in the morning and at night.”
Let me ask you a heart-wrenching question, “Are you committed to achieving your Why in life?” If so, then you will soon realize that the amount time you invest reading your Why Card every morning and every night will determine when and if you achieve your Why in life.
The Purpose of Problems
The number of obstacles that you face in life will lay the foundation for massive growth. One of the most important principles to understand as you build your future is that problems have a purpose. A wise man once said, “The doorway to success is camouflaged by problems.” That’s why there are challenges, obstacles and hurdles between you and your Why. That’s the reason I often say and even wrote in the introduction to this book that my stuttering disability turned into a precious gift in my life. It became the driving force behind me creating the most powerful success key – “Find Your Why.” Success is always hidden by challenges and problems. In solving them, you acquire skills that you need to be a leader.
17 Highly-Guarded Strategies to Close Every Sale – Strategy #8: Shotgun Versus Sniper (2 of 2)

Let’s say for real estate, the time of the showing will vary due to the factors involved in showing the home, but still don’t drag out the showing. Be prompt and courteous of the buyer’s time. After the showing, ask the buyer, “What did you like best about the house?” Of course, they will tell you the positive side of things after the question. This question will lead into them telling you what they didn’t like about the house such as they really wanted a view of the ocean. You still have the upper hand in this situation, because you can respond with something like, “Excellent! As a matter of fact, I have three more homes with that a view of the ocean that I can show to you tomorrow.” Even though that house wasn’t for the buyer, you listened and focused in on the buyer’s need to have the opportunity to show them a few other properties.
I know that I can sell product that I believe in, and I mean anything – real estate, high-end cars, furniture, nutrition, kitchen cabinets, anything under the sun, etc. Give me a sales presentation to do, and I will outsell the number one salesman, I guarantee it. It’s not based on my knowledge of the product. The end result of the sale is all about my belief in myself, the product and the sniper sales process. I’m confident that I can show the plan, handle the objections, close the sale and open a relationship with the prospect. It’s not difficult. You just have to be laser-focused!
That’s why most salespeople never achieve any success, because they never get to the point. They just go on and on and on and on and on and on. Excuse my language, but I call it diarrhea of the mouth. By the time the salesperson is finished, the client has already decided not to invest in the product. All that useless information is highly ineffective and completely unnecessary.
You have to out-listen your competition. Since you know that most sales professionals talk too much, just make the decision to out-listen them. Listen to that potential client’s
questions and concerns like you are being told the biggest secret in the world. You have to have ears like Dumbo tuned into every word that they are saying. Of course, your ultimate goal is to outsell your competition, but you have to out-listen first and then your sales will skyrocket.
Strategy #8 Champion Tip: Become a sniper and focus on your target. Out-listen to outsell your competition.
THE ABCs OF LIFE

This week’s article is targeted toward professional marketers in the industry of network marketing. During a workshop this week, I did a special presentation on the ABCs of achieving the top position in life and in business. The ABCs that I spoke of are as follows: A – Attitude/Action, B – Building/Belief, C – Commitment/Caring.
The foundational key to success in life is a positive attitude. We all hear about it, we all talk about it and we all read about, but do we all have positive attitudes? Your attitude can go in three different directions – forward, neutral and backward. Going forward produces a positive attitude, remaining neutral and/or sliding backward result in a negative attitude. You cannot have both a positive and negative attitude! A person with a positive attitude will have “down days,” which are characteristics of a leader. In order to be successful, you must experience frustrations in life that tend to make you a stronger leader with a drive to succeed. Another important component to developing a positive attitude is establishing daily action steps. There are three key ingredients in building a professional business in network marketing or life in general.
1. Reading your WHY card upon arising in the morning and retiring in the evening. The most important force in your life is your WHY, which I speak extensively in my training programs and during seminars. (WHY are you living the life that you live day in and day out) You need to internalize your WHY and develop it into your spirit.
2. Consult with your Mastermind Team. Your Mastermind Team is the first three people that you consult with each and everyday that will ultimately help you achieve your WHY in life.
3. Speak to three new people a day about your business. Those three new people are three new prospects/three new seeds. “Seed time and harvest will not cease.” Those are two principles that will parallel your success in business and mainly in life. Basically what ever you plant you will harvest – positive or negative.
A forward-moving attitude will help you to build a huge business for yourself and have an incredibly successful life. I challenge you this week to read your WHY card, consult your Mastermind Team daily and speak to three new people a day about your business.
