Unleashing Your Why in Life
By now, I’m sure you’re well on the way to finding or perhaps you have already found that spark inside your heart. That spark is what ignites that roaring fire of desire deep inside of you. I salute you! You’re doing something that most people never achieve. You’re discovering your ultimate Why in life. Writing your Why is a process, and you can rewrite it as many times as you need in the beginning phase. Every great accomplishment starts with one step towards its achievement.
The Incredible Power of a 3×5 Card
There is one more secret that I have to tell you before we continue our discussion on the Why. You are likely wondering “how” you will achieve your Why. I believe that 95% of your success will be a direct result of the power behind your Why and only 5% will come from how you will actually accomplish it. In other words, don’t worry so much about the how, just keep focusing on the Why at this point. My own experience is that if your Why is strong enough, then you will never have to worry about the how. Strangely enough, the how will present itself. I’ve seen it happen many times. Now, let’s talk about the power of your Why. The way for you to unleash the explosive power locked inside of your Why is simple. Grab a 3×5 index card. I’ll say that once again. Grab a 3×5 index card. This is a million dollar tool, but it is so
simple that most people won’t do it! You could have expensive software that will allow you to create a fancy, multi-colored, seven-dimension, micro-chip implanted Why card. You could have every fancy tech gadget under the sun, but this little 3×5 index card will change your life. It will massively change your life! At the top of the index card write “My Why Card” in big letters. Then, write your personal Why statement on this card beginning with “My Why is.” After you’ve done that, you must commit to reading it over and over and over again! The power of the “Why Card” lies in its mobility. You can take it everywhere you go, and you will never lose focus on the achievement of your Why.
With every challenge or obstacle in life that you face, simply face it head on and READ YOUR WHY CARD. Start internalizing your Why in your mind, your heart and your spirit. It will change your life forever, and you will never go back to that point you were at before you found your Why.
ACTIVITY VS. ACCOMPLISHMENT

Each and every day, all of us continually search for the extra edge to win at the sport of sales and marketing. One of the most important things that you need to know is that there is a thin line that exists between activity versus accomplishment. Many people feel if they are “active” then they are productive. This is not true! Too often people run around shuffling papers, go back and forth to meetings and are continually on and off their cell phones, but they never accomplish a single task. Consequently, they never obtain their ultimate goal.
Each day as an achiever, you need to set daily, productive action goals that are results-oriented. I personally prefer a goal partner – an accountability partner – someone you can be accountable to each and every day to make sure you did what you said you were going to do! As soon as you instill this into your mindset, you will see the results of your productive efforts flourish very quickly.
The daily compounding of effectiveness will be very dramatic for you to witness. The key to success is leverage, but you must be confident in your efforts to be duplicated in a productive manner. You need to ask yourself a very powerful, truthful question every night as you retire to bed, “If everyone did today what I did for my business, how much would they have actually accomplished?”
Always remember, a small improvement over a long period of time produces dramatic results! Begin to review your actions TODAY…RIGHT NOW! Confirm that they are accomplishment-oriented and that your mindset reflects productivity versus pure movement as activity. I WARN YOU! You will begin to see outstanding results begin immediately. Always be a truthful judge of your actions and determine if you are just being active or are you accomplishing your ultimate outcome through your daily activities.
TEAR UP YOUR “TO DO” LISTS

Most of you have those tedious “To Do” list that you create in an effort to get more things done in your day. But let’s take time to really look at your “To Do” list. The actual words “To Do” have a negative connotation, and when you look at that list on a daily basis you think to yourself, “I MUST get this stuff done!”. It’s like meeting a deadline on a daily basis. You absolutely dread it! You should just call it your “To Don’t” list, because it’s not something that you even look forward to doing.
So, what kinds of things are on these “To Do” list?
1. Go to the gym
2. Take the kids to baseball practice
3. Make (3) new contacts for my business
4. Pick-up the laundry
5. Coaching session w/John Di Lemme
6. Tele-Class at 8:30pm
7. Book flights for upcoming seminar
That’s right, this is an example of the infamous “To Do” list that you write out every day, and you drive yourself crazy trying to get everything done. Then at the end of the day, you wad up your list and throw it away. No matter if you finished everything or not. Does this make sense? No. Why should you torture yourself by making a list of things that will ultimately hang over your head all day long. Plus, most of the time the things on your “To Do” list are important to you and you should feel a sense of accomplishment after you complete them.
I know that you are saying to yourself, “John, I have to write things down or I won’t do them, and these things are important.” I agree with you 100%, but there is another way…something you won’t hate and resent doing on a daily basis. You must make this list important to you and feel good about yourself when you complete it or even most of it.
Develop a Champion Checklist! Doesn’t that sound better and more powerful? How would you feel at the end of your day if you accomplished the majority of things on your “Champion Checklist”? Here’s another tip. Don’t throw it away day after day after day. Keep your Champion Checklist in a journal or simply a notebook. This will allow you to look back at your lists at the end of the week and see all of the things that you achieved. On the other hand, it will also act as your guide to things that you can do better such as time management.
My challenge for you today is to commit to tearing up your “To Do” list and replace it with a “Champion Checklist”. Will you do it or will you continue to begin everyday staring at a list that haunts you all day long? It’s up to you! This simple change will produce drastic results for you.
